Dubbing Anime
Anime is an animation in Japan and considered to be "Japanese animation" in the rest of the world. It deals with a whole lot of subject matters and a lot of it reaches is America. But some English adaptations of anime come to the American Audience as different then their original form. There are a lot of different reasons for that. They include tuning down violence in a show sot that kids could watch it because in America in sometimes perceived as only kid’s watch. Social structures that are more accepted in Japan. Bad dubbing can ruin a good TV show. The most dramatic example of that was the dubbing of Card Captor Sakura. The people at Nelvana edited all the materials that they deemed unsuitable for children. They took out all the romance relationships from the show, took out anything that looks like they Japan out changed the characters personalities and aired their episodes in a different order then they were intended to . Since we were talking how some of the shows are cut and not aired those were some reasons why
Playing as a female in Harvest moon
You know I did a post on women in video games. So let’s get more specific. Harvest moon is a series of video games that simulates farming. The object of the game is to maintain a farm over a period of time, tending the crops and livestock through the seasons, while befriending the nearby townsfolk and getting married in some games. In The first couple of games you could only play as a boy. Then they would come out with separate games were you played as a girl. For example Harvest Moon Ds (boy) Harvest moon Ds Cute(girl) . The only major difference in those games is that you played as girl instead of a boy and determines who you can court in the game. It has only been in the last couple games when you can chose whether or not to play as a girl or boy in the last three games. So what do you think about that strategy

High school musical
High school musical is one of the most popular movies shows for kids right now. They both have feature length movie that are coming out or are already out for them. “High School Musical is a story about two high school juniors from rival cliques – Troy Bolton , captain of the basketball team, and Gabriella Montez a beautiful and shy transfer student who excels in math and science.together, they try out for the lead parts in their high school" musical and as a result, divide the school. Despite other students' attempts to thwart their dreams, Troy and Gabriella resist peer pressure and rivalry.” Are they good for kids to be watching? If you watch high school musical you notice that it focuses on Troy’s problems more than Gabriella’s. In the second movie is it about how troy is losing his friends and choosing a more wealthy life Gabrielle is their as his girlfriend and to support him. She really does not have her own story line troy has to try to decide where he want to go to college. His friends and family tell him to go to UCLA, and on of teachers gives him a scholarship to Julliard They story Gabriella is that she has a secret she is hiding from them which is she got into Stamford early. But that plot gets resolved halfway through the movie while troy does decide where to go to the end. So I think high school musical focus more on troy rather then Gabriella

Women in Video Games
Why are all video games geared towards men when 41 one percent of women play. You almost never play as a female character. In a rpg the type of are women are usually the love interests, the sweet cheerful character and the mysterious women. You do occasionally get a character that does not run into these stereotypes but it not often. You almost never have to rescue a captured male. When you do get a female main character in any genre it usually is a very exaggerated version to please men. Women are always more sexualized then men in video games because they use them to sell for men what brings me back to my question why do games usually targeted for males instead of females

Newsweek Cover
I found this image on feministing.com . It is the cover of Newsweek magazine stating what women want in lipstick. The article inside goes on to talk about Sarah Palin Politics and how it would be better for her to be in the supreme court rather then vice presidents. But I think that the cover dilutes the story. It says what women want and the article does not go into what women want at all. Jessica states her opinion to what women want “Not to have articles about their political interests represented by a fucking tube of lipstick”. Do you agree with me or her . Do you think that this add is sexist

Women on Cbs Crime S hows
Of all the network tv shows Cbs has the most crime show. Almost all the crime shows have women in them as Csi Techs, Cops, and other investigators .There are all being portrayed as strong modern women . What they don’t look at is how many times these women have been attacked, held hostage, of raped
This is a tally of all the female Characters on Cbs crimes shows and what has happened to them
CSI
Caherine :date Raped
Sara Sidle: abducted
CSI Miami
Calleigh Duquesne; targeted by a killer, forced off the road, kidnapped
Alexx Woods: held hostage by a killer
CSI Newyork
Stella Bonasera: attacked and held hostage
Aiden Burn:kidnapped and murder by a rapist
Lindasy; nothing
Cold Case
Lilly Rush : held hostage and shot
Crimanl Minds
Jennifer "JJ" Jareau: held hostage
Penelope Garcia: shot
Elle Greenaway:shot Left because she could not handle the job
NCIS
Ziva David: nothing
Abby Sciuto: nothing
Jennifer Shepard's: shot , if she was not shot she going to die of a brain disease
Caitlin Tood: held hostage shot by the same person a year later
Without a Trace:
Samantha Spade: held hostage and shot, beaten
About half of these women needed to be rescued in the end. So even though these are supposed to be strong women they need to be rescued. I know it a crime show and people might get into these situations by how many men on these shows die or need to be rescued
